1. Just reading the site

There are no cookies, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind on this site. Nothing about your visit is recorded by us.

Each page runs one small script that asks our signup service, hosted at Google, for the current game details, so the next game can be shown at the top of the page. That request carries nothing about you beyond what any web request carries (such as your network address, which Google sees exactly as it would if you opened the sign up list yourself). We never see it, and nothing is stored in your browser beyond a five-minute copy of the schedule itself.

If you pick a language from the Translate menu, the wording on the page gets translated. Newer desktop browsers do that on your own device and nothing is sent anywhere at all. Every other browser asks the same signup service above to do it, which passes the words to Google Translate. The only thing sent is this website's own public wording, never anything you typed and nothing that identifies you. Your choice of language is remembered in your browser until you close the tab, and is not sent to us.

The sign up page additionally fetches the list of who is coming so it can be displayed.

2. What we collect when you sign up

Only what the form asks for:

• Your first and last name
• Your email address
• Whether you told us you are under 18
• If you are under 18, your parent or guardian's name and email address
• That you ticked the box accepting the terms, and when
• Which game you signed up for, and the date and time you did it
• Whether you were expected at that game, and whether you turned up. This is kept privately by the organiser, is never shown on the site, and is only used to work out how many people a game really needs

We do not ask for your phone number, your address, your date of birth or anything else, and we do not want them.

2b. If you make an account

An account is optional. It exists so you can see the games you are down for and take yourself off a list without hunting for an old email.

There is no password. You type your email address, we email you a six-digit code, and typing it back proves the address is yours. We never store a password, so there is no password of yours to leak, and nothing to reset.

Having an account adds one row with your email address, your name, when the account was made and when you last signed in. Your browser also keeps a long random string that says you are signed in; it lasts about two months, it is not a cookie, it is not sent to anybody but us, and Sign out everywhere on the account page makes it stop working immediately on every device.

Login codes are sent by email and last about fifteen minutes. Delete your account by emailing us and it goes, along with everything attached to it.

3. What is shown publicly

Your first and last name appear on the sign up page, where anybody with the link can read them. That is the point of the list: so people can see who is playing, and so everybody can see whether the game has enough players.

The headcount is public too. Your email address, your guardian's details and your age answer are never published. They stay in a private spreadsheet.

If you are not comfortable with your name being public, do not sign up. Turn up and play instead, or email us and we will count you manually.

4. Where it is kept

In a Google Sheet owned by the group, with a Google Apps Script that sends the confirmation and cancellation emails. Google processes and stores that data under their own terms as our provider. Nobody else has access to it.

The website itself is hosted by Netlify. Like every web host, their servers handle the ordinary technical information any web request contains, such as your IP address and browser type, in order to deliver the page. That happens at the hosting level, we have no dashboard of it and we do not use it.

5. Under 18

Players aged 16 and 17 must give a parent or guardian's name and email address. The confirmation link is sent to that guardian rather than to the player, so a minor's name does not appear publicly until an adult has clicked it.

A parent or guardian can email us at any time to have a young person's details removed, and we will do it without asking why.

6. Getting yourself removed

Every confirmation email contains a cancel link that is unique to you. Clicking it takes you off the public list immediately.

To have your details deleted entirely rather than just cancelled, email eriepickupsoccer@proton.me and say so. We will delete the row.

7. How long it is kept

Signups for past games are moved out of the working sheet, and old records are deleted after about six months. Nothing is kept because it might be useful one day.

8. What we never do

Your details are never sold, never rented, never traded and never handed to anybody for marketing. There is no mailing list. The only emails we send are about a game you signed up for: the confirmation link, the notice when you cancel, a reminder a few hours before the game with a one-click way to drop out, and a notice if the game is called off. Nothing else, ever.

9. Links to other places

This site links out to Facebook, Google Maps and an email address. Those are other companies' services with their own privacy practices. Nothing loads from them until you choose to click.

10. Changes to this policy

If this changes, this page gets updated and the date at the top changes with it.
